SOCCER CAMPS
GIRLS' ELITE SHOWCASE CAMP INFORMATION
JULY 25 - 27, 2008
Come and Train With the 2007 BIG SOUTH CONFERENCE CHAMPIONS!
|
The High Point Women's Soccer Team would like to invite you to attend our 2008 Elite
Showcase Camp for Girls. The emphasis of our camp is to show the player what it is like to train
on a nationally competitive NCAA Division I program. In 2007, the Panthers made their second
appearance in the NCAA Women's College Cup using a year-round training program that
prepared each player for their championship season through comprehensive technical, tactical,
physical and mental exercises that challenged them to their limits.
Topics Covered at the Elite Showcase Camp
Each player will be trained as we do with our women's soccer team in the following areas:
1) Technical Proficiency and Speed of Play
2) Tactical Proficiency and Speed of Play
3) Strength and Conditioning
4) Nutrition
5) Developing a Winning Mentality
5) Information Session on Choosing the Right College for You
6) NCAA Compliance Seminar
Facilities
Each player will be able to benefit from the tremendous facilities that our president, Dr. Nido
Qubein, has invested in. The campus is currently undergoing a $225 million renovation that has
included a new soccer stadium, a field house adjacent to the stadium that houses our locker
room, offices, training room, weight room and academic support center. Our fields are beautifully
manicured bermuda grass and are excellent surfaces on which to develop your level of play. We
will eat our meals in the university's newly renovated Slane Center where home-type meals are
served each day.
Camp Deposit
A deposit of $100.00 is required and should accompany the application for camp. This deposit
is non-refundable. It will be subtracted from the total balance due.
Application Deadline
All applications must be postmarked by Tuesday, July 15. Any postmarked after that date will be
required to pay the increased tuition rate.
Registration
Confirmation of the receipt of your application will be sent via e-mail, unless other wise
requested, immediately upon arrival to our office. Registration information will be sent prior to
the start of camp. Directions are available by entering your address here:
Check Out
Camp ends after the closing ceremonies on the last day of camp. Check out for all residential
campers from the Radisson will be the morning of the last day. The ceremony will take place in
the soccer stadium on HPU's campus.
Accomodations
Residential campers will be staying at the Radisson Hotel, an official sponsor of the High Point
Athletic Department. The Radisson is conveniently located only minutes away from campus. If
you have a definite room mate preference, please indicate that on your application form and
submit it as soon as possible. Both campers must request each other in order to assure being
paired together. Room mates will not be assigned if the $100.00 deposit is not received with the
application. If you do not request a room mate, one will be assigned to you. We will strive to
maintain two players to a room - however, there is a possibility that four will be placed together
depending on camp attendance. We will update you as soon as possible.
Training and activities are planned from 8:00 a.m. until 9:00 p.m. for both residential and
commuter campers. The hotel accomodations will be supervised by members of the camp staff
at all times.
Cancellations
Your place in the Elite Showcase Camp may be made minus the $100.00 non-refundable
deposit. Please make your request in writing via mail or e-mail to the camp director, Michelle
